RIVER RAFTING & MOUNTAIN BIKING
The Ayung River in an inflatable raft has to be the most popular Bali activities. Combine it with a Mountain Bike Cycle ride downhill and lunch at the Taro Elephant Park and you will have a fabulous day.
MOUNTAIN CLIMBING
Experience sunrise atop Mount Batur, Bali’s 2nd highest peak at about 2200m, which is a climb of approximately two to three hours, best scaled from April through to October. Taking a guide is essential.
DIVING AND SNORKELING
Numerous diving and snorkeling spots can be found on Bali and the outer islands. Sanur, Tanjung Benoa and Amed/Tulamben. Dive operators offer day trips and PADI courses for beginners in a 3 day period.
WALK THE SEA BED
No diving or swimming experience is required to marvel at the marine wonders of the ocean. Put on a helmet with a clear shield and walk for 15 minutes on the sea floor up to 8 meters under the water. Packages from Marine Walk also bring you to Nusa Lembongan island.
SURFING
Never surfed before, no problems beginners can easily join one of many surf schools on Kuta and Legian beaches. More challenging breaks are found at Dreamland and Canggu beaches. Experienced surfers should check out the waves at Nusa Dua, Shipwrecks & Lacerations of Nusa Lembongan. Stand Up Paddle Surfing is also available.
BALI SWING
This new activity feels like flying through the jungle in slow motion. Some amazing selfie opportunities here at this very picturesque valley in Ubud which over looks terraced rice fields and tropical jungle.
PARASAILING
The best way to get a panoramic view of the beaches of Sanur and Tanjung Benoa is from 100m in the air. Speed boats pull you out of the water and the parachute behind fills with air as you float high above the beach and sea below. April to December is the best time to do this.
QUAD BIKING
Off road junkies will love riding a 4WD motorbike or specially designed off-road car across some of the most picturesque rice fields, mountains and riverbanks in Bali. Tours stop at a traditional villages and pass Hindu village temples.
BUNGEE JUMPING
If simply jumping off a 45m tower is boring, then execute some fancy leaps on a bicycle or motorbike at the only bungee jumping facility on Kuta Beach, operated by AJ Hackett. Or do a reverse bungee in the Bali Sling Shot where you are hurtled 52m in to the sky while strapped in a chair within a metal capsule.
PAINTBALL
This activity involves shooting paint pellets from air guns while running, and ducking from incoming shots by opposing players. Not as simple as it sounds, dexterity, stamina and a good aim are essential if you want to win. Paintball Bali’s the place to go if you want to play war games.
TREETOP ADVENTURE
Always wanted to be Tarzan or Jane, here is your chance as you navigate the Bali Treetop Adventure Park rides. Various challenge levels are between 5 to 20 meters above ground. Thrills along the circuit are provided by various jumps, a flying fox and swings through the air.
